FAQ

Straight answers.

No jargon, no runaround. Here is what people ask before they book.

01Do you take my insurance?

We bill most PPO plans and some other commercial plans, and we check your benefits before your first visit. Some of our prescribers are enrolled with Medicare, and we do not bill Medicaid. The How fees work page has the details.

02What is a superbill, and how do I use it?

If we are out of network with your plan, we can send an itemized receipt after each visit. You send it to your plan to ask for reimbursement. It lists a diagnosis code, your plan decides whether to pay you back, and reimbursement is not guaranteed.

03What is a Good Faith Estimate?

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of the cost of your care before you start, and we give you one. If a bill comes to $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.

04How much does a visit cost?

It depends on your plan and the kind of visit. We give you the fee in writing before you book, whether you use insurance or pay yourself. HSA and FSA cards usually work, and we ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a visit.

05What happens at the first visit?

A long conversation about your history, what you take now and what you want. You and your prescriber agree on a plan, and you book a follow-up before you leave. Nothing is prescribed before the evaluation.

06Will I leave with a prescription?

Only if you and your prescriber decide it is right. Prescribing decisions come after an evaluation, and the Prescribing policy page says what we do and do not prescribe.

07Do you prescribe controlled medication by video?

No. We do not start a controlled medication at a video visit. A prescriber may consider one only after an in-person evaluation, as state and federal law allow.

08Will I need labs?

Some medications need blood tests or other checks. Your prescriber tells you whether you need any, which ones and why, before you start.

09How soon can I be seen?

It depends on the prescriber's calendar. When you write, tell us how soon you need to be seen. If you need help today, call or text 988, or call 911. This office is not an emergency service.

10Are you licensed where I live?

Our prescribers and therapist are licensed in Texas. For a video visit you need to be in Texas when we meet. The footer lists each clinician's license.

11What is confidential, and what are the limits?

We keep your records private and share them only as the law allows. The few exceptions, such as a risk to your safety or someone else's, are explained at your first visit.

12What do I do in a crisis?

Call or text 988 any time, or call 911 in an emergency. This practice is not monitored around the clock, so it is not the place to reach in a crisis.
